Aaaand its a wrap!

The last classes of 2021 have been uploaded for your booking into and 2021 is officially a wrap! What an adventure it has been and while these times have been unusual, to say the least, we have grown together, grown within ourselves and also achieved transformation and progress in so many aspects related to movement, to community and to the space that we all share at the Secret Yoga Club. Undoubtedly, 2022 doesn't promise to be a whole heap better, but we will do what we can to make the most of it.

I would like to extend my gratitude to all of you for being flexible and so accomodating to the constant changes. For being responsible in self-testing, booking your classes and managing your own bookings so that things are neat and organised, for being present on time and for being neat and clean in the physical space as well.

My only regret is that from May til now, we have not been able to have classes bigger than 5. This week is the first week since 4th May 2021 that we have had MORE than 5 attending class at any one time. This week finally feels like we are on the journey back to normal. At long last!

The real challenge of 2021 has been in not being able to plan ahead as far as I would like, and that means that we are moving forward constantly a month at a time, and always having contingency plans for things to have to be scaled down. My hope for 2022 is that we will have more certainty to go on, and that we can make plans for programmes to enrich and benefit our community. This enables us to make the most of our time.

The focus groups, immersions and specific topic workshops have been a privilege at the Secret Yoga Club, because it is a community where I am familiar with everyone and am aware of the needs of each person who comes here, as well as my having the ability to address these needs. These sessions have allowed us to do so much more, and many of you will look back on your journey of 2021 and realise that you have changed so much in how you move, how you understand your body and what you are able to do. You can look forward to more of this in 2022.

I am planning to scale back on drop-in generic classes and going more specific to need in how I create and curate sessions. You can get good group classes anywhere but I think our community deserves better than that and I can do better by our community in this respect.

I will release January classes for booking in mid-dec 2021.

In the meanwhile, do continue to do your regular ART testing. Do continue to be vigilant of your own health and be safe in the places you visit. This pandemic cannot last forever and we will outlast this and come out stronger at the end of it.

Merry Christmas and Happy 2022! Excuse me while I go bake a salmon.
